a new wonder

underground river

i only had one extra day for personal business. ok, 1 and 1/2.

the 1/2 was used for the sites near the city. and the saturday was for the underground river or honda bay. i decided, without hesitation, to visit the current number one in the polls for the 7 new wonders of nature: the subterranean river national park.

discovering puerto princesa

Won’t bore you with the details of day 2 in palawan. Just work. Got the interviews and photos that I needed, although i still haven’t made the feature stories that i need to submit. i can hopefully write them before the day ends. :D

After lunch, we were on our way back to puerto princesa (palawan’s capital city). the road was still bumpy but as usual, i slept during most of the 4-hour trip. that’s my special talent – able to sleep through chaos. :p

after seeing just endless stretches of rice fields, I’ve finally had a change of scenery. Although the main itinerary still involves rice fields, the side trips got me to see some of the tourist destinations palawan is famous for.

when second best would do

it has been a while since i last had an entry in my blog. can’t blame it on a busy schedule though. i had a lot of opportunities to write a blog entry – but i didn’t. i could not think of a ‘good enough’ topic to write on. every time i had an idea, i tried converting them to words but could not churn out more than just a few sentences. and since i ‘promised’ to make my blog entries more substantive, i simply could not publish half-baked articles.

“Strive excellence in everything you do” were the words i placed in the motto section of my high school yearbook. This saying could also explain the article shortage in my blog. This lead me to thinking – “when i can’t give my best, is it ok to just give the “better” or “good” works instead?”
