celebrating philippine independence
It has been 110 years since our ancestors waved the Philippine flag declaring the country’s independence from the Spanish rule. Because of their hardships, we are enjoying freedom.
Now, let me ask you, would you die for your country?
During a live TV coverage of the National Flag Day celebration (May 28), the reporter asked a student the same question. She said “she would.” Whether she was sincere or she was just pressured by the rolling cameras, we would never know.
But, do we really need to die to be patriotic?
I agree with those who say no. When you die, what else can you do?
Live for your country. Wear your heritage proud in your arm. Work hard to achieve your goals. Make your country proud by being the best citizen you can be.
