around the world
while here in japan, i have been having my fair share of okinawan and japanese cuisine. many of them you can read in previous entries in this blog.
this is sushi with a piece of seared beef as its topping. i had this during david’s birthday celebration, lunch at a sushi restaurant near harajuko station. this was good…
i also had the “sushi bowl” – the fish were just placed as toppings on rice.
this one had (cooked) shrimp.
this one had salmon (i think)
and for dessert, i had shira tama zenzai, made of sweetened beans and the 3 rice balls. i liked this.

of course, i wanted to be more daring in my food choices, i need not go far. the oic shokudo serves some pretty interesting meals sometimes.
this first one is actually fish coated with corn flakes. i tried it because i became curious of the combination. it was not bad but i’m not too crazy about it.
noodle dish with fried shrimps on top. this was oishii.
i also get to try food from different countries. oic shokudo serves meals from a country when it is its independence or foundation day.
this cambodian dish was served this lunch. today (november 9) is the independence day of the cambodia.
this one (from many weeks ago) is a dish from brazil.
i also tried dishes from fiji islands, panama, vietnam, and many others. one actually was called “adovo” and looked and tasted a bit like the abodo from the philippines.

by the way, more people left oic today. this morning, participants from the IEC for HIV/Aids Prevention in Gangsu province in China left for home. they were the doctors who also did a video production exercise when we went to naha and nago.
also, the environment class had their graduation today. yussof from kenya was the first to leave.
